Bolt Portrait

Bolt

Bolt is a very handsome 1 year-old, male-neutered, Siberian Husky. He’s full-grown at 65lbs. Bolt came to us after having been hit by a car with a broken right forelimb (both radius and ulna).  His owner couldn’t afford treatment, so rather than put an otherwise healthy puppy to sleep, she agreed to surrender him to us so we could try to not only heal his leg, but also find him a new home.

Bolt is an extremely energetic and loving dog.  He gets along with other submissive dogs, but needs training to interact well with cats, as he tends to chase them.  He needs a home with a suitable fence and lots of exercise!  He also needs a patient owner that will potty train him – he is very motivated by treats!  He has accidents in his kennel due to our staff only being at the clinic from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. His fractures have healed in his right front leg however,  he does have a mild right radiocarpal joint luxation (dislocated wrist) that may require joint supplements and potentially future treatments (daily medications, etc.) as he will likely be predisposed to arthritis in that joint.

Bolt is up-to-date on Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvovirus/Parainfluenza, Leptospirosis, Rabies, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza Virus vaccinations, and heartworm and fecal testing, and monthly prevention.   One free dose of Simparica Trio (flea/heartworm/tick/roundworm/hookworm preventive) would be provided upon adoption.

If interested in adopting Bolt, please fill out our adoption application via the link below.  Or email [email protected] for a pdf application.  Thank you!

Scout

Available for adoption: Scout is the perfect “Fetch” partner! He knows how to play fetch and sit! He is an 8-year/old, male-neutered Black Lab Mix. Scout is the sweetest, bestest boy! He came to us because he was routinely escaping from his owner’s fenced-in yard (digging) within the city limits of Harrodsburg and his owner just couldn’t keep him from escaping. Therefore, a more rural setting with enough land to run or even an underground electric fence would be ideal for Scout. He does very well with twice daily Trazodone (anti-anxiety medication), although we don’t think he will need it once settled into his forever home. He has a growth on his chest that has already been diagnosed as a benign lipoma via fine needle aspirate/cytology here at our clinic. He can be picky about his dog-friends, so a trial period would be needed for homes with other dogs. Scout has lived at our clinic since April 2023 waiting for his perfect home to come along! He is up-to-date on Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvovirus/Parainfluenza, Leptospirosis, Rabies, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza Virus vaccinations, heartworm and fecal testing and prevention.  One free dose of Simparica Trio (flea/heartworm/tick/roundworm/hookworm preventive) would be provided upon adoption. Courtney Faye

She is up-to-date on Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvovirus/Parainfluenza, Leptospirosis, Rabies, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza Virus vaccinations, heartworm and fecal testing and prevention.  One free dose of Simparica Trio (flea/heartworm/tick/roundworm/hookworm preventive) would be provided upon adoption.
